Nicala Edwards
Hi there
I’m Nicala Edwards, a Licensed Professional Counselor with five years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages. I help people navigate a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, stress, life transitions, and identity concerns.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2016 and my Master of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019, both from Southeastern Louisiana University.
I believe that counseling provides a safe space where you can process your thoughts, feelings, and concerns with someone who truly listens. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. While I primarily use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), I also pull from techniques like person-centered therapy, brief solution-focused therapy, internal family systems, strength-based approaches, and play therapy, depending on what works best for you.
For me, the relationship between you and your counselor is the most important part of the process. I take the time to get to know you on a deeper level so we can work together to create goals and a treatment plan that fit your unique definition of wellness. Whether you’re looking for support, guidance, or just a space to be heard, I’m here to help you take steps toward healing and growth.
